Fort Pierce Inlet Sediment Impoundment Basin - Phase 1

The project work consists of dredging approximately 65,000 cubic yards of predominantly medium grained sand (with silt, shell, and rock) by hydraulic cutter suction, mechanical, or hopper dredge to construct a sediment impoundment basin inside Fort Pierce Inlet, St. Lucie County, Florida and placing the dredged material within the Fort Pierce Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site (ODMDS) as specified within the Drawings and Technical Specifications. For the purpose of bidding and project planning, the estimated volume to be excavated is 65,000 cubic yards; however, project construction may entail dredging slightly more or less sand at the time of construction. The contract will include dredging, transport, and placement of dredged material payable as a unit cost item per cubic yard dredged, as well as mobilization/demobilization, environmental protection, record drawings, and surveys. Note that the August 2018 survey of the project area appears in the Drawings.
