Replacement of Bridge NB-349 at Milepost A57.06 in Lehigh County

A-053.00T001-3-04 - REPLACEMENT OF BRIDGE NB-349 AT MILEPOST A57.06 IN LEHIGH COUNTY This project includes the removal of the existing overhead three span rolled beam bridge replacement with a overhead two-span composite prestressed concrete bulb tee beam bridge. The contract also includes reconstruction of SR 1002 (Tilghman Street), utility installations, drainage modifications, signing and pavement markings, and the construction of the Turnpike median/shoulder. Work items include, but are not limited to: 19,684 CY Excavation Various Classes 40,576 SY Superpave Asphalt Mixtures, Various Courses and Various Depths 5,221 CY Subbase (No. 2A) 946 LF Drainage Pipe, Various Sizes and Types 925 LF Guide Rail, Various Types 5,320 LF Temporary Concrete Barrier/Glare Screen 9,887 CY Structure Backfill 9,512 SF Architectural Surface Treatment 2,664 LF Prestressed Concrete PA Bulb-Tee Beam, 33" x 63.25" 397,693 LB Reinforcement Bars, Epoxy Coated 25,727 SY Milling of Asphalt Pavement, Various Depths 86 SY Plain Cement Concrete Pavement 23,034 LF Steel HP10X57 Production Pile 8 EA Type M Inlets, Various Boxes and Various Heights Milepost A-57.06 is located approximately 0.25 miles south of the Lehigh Valley Interchange, Exit 56, and approximately 13 miles north of the Quakertown Interchange, Exit 44, in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. The proposal and plans are published electronically in EBS and are available to registered business partners for downloading and printing. An electronic bid bond, from an approved vendor, with corporate surety, in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.) A Prequalification Certification and Applicable Capacity Rating assigned by the Prequalification Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is a necessary prerequisite for bidding on this project. The opening and listing of bids not meeting all the terms and conditions of the bid advertisement or bid procedures does not act as a waiver or modification of any requirements contained in the bid advertisement or bid procedure.
