Fiveash Water Treatment Plant Filter Media Rehabilitation

This project consists of Drawing File No. 4-141-84,10 sheets.This Project is located at Fiveash Water Treatment Plant Facility, 949 NW 38th Street, in the City of Fort Lauderdale. The work to be accomplished under this contract includes, but is not limited to, complete rehabilitation of Filter Numbers 5 & 13, and partial removal and replacement of existing media for Filter Numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 20, 21, & 22 at the Fiveash Water Treatment Plant. This project includes procurement, removal, disposal, construction, testing, and placing into service the equipment and materials shown on the Drawings and Specifications. This project includes the following project elements for each filter covered by these Contract Documents. Remove and dispose of the existing filter media in Filter Numbers 5 &13. Inspect walls for any cracks or spalling, repair as required. Inspect underdrain, replace as required. Inspect influent valve, clean, repair, replace as required. Furnish, install, and test new filter media and gravel in Filter Numbers 5 &13. Gravel, sand, and anthracite, to be installed per contract documents. Top of anthracite to be 2” below existing agitator bar. The existing agitator bar in Filter Numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 20, 21, & 22, is currently buried in the existing media. The existing media is to be removed to a level that will allow 12” of new anthracite to be installed to a level 2” below the existing agitator bar. Inspect influent valve, clean, repair, replace as required.
