Academic Building and 56 Bed Housing Units - Department of Juvenile Justice

As of August 29, 2022, an architect was selected. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. The scope of the design work will include, but may not be limited to, the following academic building and housing units: Academic Building: A new Academic Building will be designed and constructed on the campus of the Augusta YDC located at 3481 Mike Padgett Highway, Augusta, Georgia 30906. The completion of the educational building will align with DJJ's goal of providing education opportunities for those offenders in its custody. The long-term goal is for the educational complex to serve both the YDC and the adjoining Regional Youth Detention Center (RYDC).
