Construction of Traffic Signal Memorial Drive at Bishop Road

**As of March 8,2023, project was awarded to JB Moore, awarded amount is $278,907.50 .** Construct new traffic signal system on existing unsignalized intersection of Memorial Drive (Route 29 BUS) and Bishop Road . NOTICE TO PROCEED: FEBRUARY 20, 2023 Submit your bid with proposal guaranty (bid bond, certified check, or cash escrow) equal to at least 5% of the bid. A five percent (5%) bid bond (proposal guaranty) and one hundred percent (100%) payment and performance bonds as detailed in the City of Danville Standard Requirements and Instructions for Bidding or as amended . If awarded the contract, to execute and deliver to the City within ten (10) consecutive calendar days after their receipt of the contract documents, a satisfactory Performance Bond and Labor & Material Bond, as required, in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount along with the signed agreement. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities or informalities in the bidding. The City, in protecting its best interest, reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive any defects in favor of the City. Any changes, erasures, deletions in the unit or lump sum prices above, modifications in the bid form, or alternate proposals not specified in the bid proposal shall make the proposal irregular and subject to rejection. The City shall be authorized to assess liquidated damages against the Contractor in an amount equal to that which is established in the Contract Documents. Liquidated damages shall be three hundred fifty (350) dollars per day the project remains incomplete beyond the completion date agreed upon. In case of failure on their part to execute the said agreement within ten (10) consecutive calendar days after receipt of the contract documents, the monies payable by the Security accompanying this bid shall be paid to the City of Danville, Virginia, as liquidated damages for such failure; otherwise, the Security accompanying this bid shall be returned to the Bidder . The Contractor shall be subject to liquidated damages to be assessed in accordance with the Specifications for each day the work is incomplete past the contract number of days or fixed date of completion for each phase of work. The Bidder, if awarded the Contract, waives any defense as to the validity of liquidated damages stated in the Contract on the grounds that such liquidated damages are void as penalties or are not reasonably related to actual damages.
