Coliseum Annex Level 2 and 3 Renovation

This project will primarily focus on the interior renovation of the second floor (10,000 SF – which does not include the practice gymnasium) which houses the Men’s and Women’s Track Program spaces, including: student-athlete locker rooms, coaches’ locker rooms, training room, storage, and support spaces. The renovation will refresh the student-athlete locker rooms, which will include expanded shower and restroom areas and added dedicated shoedrying rooms to each. The existing front lobby and storage rooms along the south (8th Street) facade will be reconfigured to create an expanded lobby / student lounge with a new nutrition bar. Daylighting will be enhanced by exposing the existing windows along the south facade. An expanded training facility with an enhanced hydrotherapy area will be located in the new space. The existing training room will be reconfigured to accommodate new coaches’ locker rooms. In addition, a new egress door with exterior stairs will be added at the west exterior wall to lead from the extended north interior corridor into the courtyard between the Annex building and the ACC Network building to improve operations. Additionally, a portion of the third floor will be renovated for officials and visiting teams’ locker rooms. These locker rooms will ensure GT improves the experience provided to guests, but will employ minimal amenities to keep the cost low. There will be additional improvements to the third floor space that will facilitate other GTAA projects relative to swing space and other athletics needs. This renewal will allow current and future student-athletes to succeed both in academics and athletics. This project will benefit the Track & Field programs through refreshed facilities to enhance athlete performance and recovery, to facilitate a culture of success, and to serve as a backdrop for successful recruiting. The proposed renovated area totals approximately 12,500 square feet.
