Description

The B&F Gulf Service Station is a former retail petroleum facility located in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky. Releases of petroleum from this facility have resulted in soil, groundwater, and vapor-phase contamination at on-site and off-site locations. The Kentucky Division of Waste Management, Underground Storage Tank Branch is requesting site investigation and remedial actions at this facility. Remedial actions to be performed at the site include excavation of approximately 3,100 tons of petroleum-contaminated soil along with an open-pit application of remedial amendment. Site investigation tasks include borehole geophysical logging, bedrock monitoring well installations, and groundwater monitoring. Upon completion of the site investigation and remedial actions, the project site will be restored to its previous condition.
