Description | This work is for the rehabilitation of the existing Well 32 located at Morrison Park and includes construction at the following three locations: Morrison Park; within the city street rights-of-way along Westwood Avenue, Memory Lane, and Bristol Street; and at the John Garthe Reservoir site. At Morrison Park, the work includes: the demolition of the existing underground well vault, valves, piping and facilities; raising the well pump structure to grade, including associated well casing, column and appurtenances; new above ground well building with a pump and electrical room, including well pump/motor, well discharge and well to waste valves and piping; yard piping; site improvements, irrigation and landscaping improvements; and the Morrison Park improvements consisting of the repair and resurfacing of the basketball/ tennis courts, replacement of the tennis court fence enclosure, and replacement of the court lighting and corresponding electrical facilities. The well building will be constructed of CMU walls on a concrete pad with a flat roof (with a parapet) and will include the corresponding mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control facilities. Within City Street rights-of-way, the 12-inch well discharge piping, with parallel fiber optic facilities, will be constructed from the well site at Morrison Park to the John Garthe Reservoir site. The alignment is approximately 3,700 LF and includes removal/replacement of an existing pipe within an existing bridge cell for approximately 100 LF. Supports, thrust restraints and attachments to the bridge as well as the necessary pipeline appurtenances, pavement replacement and necessary traffic control are a part of this scope of work. At the John Garthe Reservoir site, the work includes construction of a chemical building/restroom facility and associated on-site piping, including pressure control and chemical injection vaults. The proposed chemical building will house the City's standard disinfection system (sodium hypochlorite generation equipment). The building will be constructed of CMU walls on a concrete pad with a gabled roof including the corresponding plumbing, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control facilities. In addition, electrical upgrades to the John Garthe Pump Station are a part of this scope of work at this site.
