Southwest 42nd Avenue Over Coral Gables Canal Bridge No. 874275 Beam Repairs

Work under this Contract includes furnishing of all supervision, labor, materials, tools, equipment and performing all operations required to construct the Work in accordance with the Contract Documents. B. Work includes but is not limited to the following: Repair of deficient findings at the ends of beams 1-4, 1-5, 2-1, 2-6, 3-1 and 3-6 located at SW 42nd Avenue bridge (No. 874275) over Coral Gables Canal. Scope items include: 1) Limited closure of bridge traffic on an "as-needed basis" during repairs as outlined on plan set. 2) Installation of steel support brackets and anchor bolts at End bent 1 and Pier caps at Plan locations. 3) Blast clean deteriorated portions of beams 1-4, 1-5, 2-1, 2-6, 3-1 and 3-6. 4) Replacement of bearing and anchor bolts at beam 1-4 seating location. 5) Installation of Steel putty at beam repair locations and field welding new bearing plates on support brackets. 6) Paint existing and new steel repair areas.B. Work includes but is not limited to the following: Repair of deficient findings at the end of beam 1-4. Scope items include: 1) Closure of bridge traffic while repairs are taking place. 2) Jacking beam 1-4. 3) Blast clean deteriorated portions of beam 1-4. 4) Replacement of bearing and anchor bolts at beam 1-4 seating location. 5) Installation of Steel putty and field welding. 6) Paint existing and new steel repair area. 7) Re-open bridge to traffic following repairs. Contractor must be aware that the bridge cannot be closed for more than 14 days from the original bridge closure on Item 1 above.
