Description

1. Demolish and remove existing asphalt sidewalk for new concrete sidewalk installation. 2. Excavate area to accommodate elevation of new stone base and sidewalk construction to existing sidewalk height. 3. Install 4 inches of compacted crushed stone per NYS DOT 304-1, type 4 gradation. 4. Old sidewalk should be pinned in 3 places (typ.) with ½” rebar, 6” depth into existing concrete, and 6” exposure for new sidewalk concrete installation. 5. Sidewalk should be five feet (5’) in width, to match existing concrete sidewalk for wheelchair evacuation. 6. Sidewalk should transition smoothly into existing sidewalk elevations. 7. Install steel reinforcement WWF 6x6-W2.1xW2.1 (typ.). 8. Install 4000 psi port land cement concrete sidewalk mix 4 inches thick, bull floated, and steel toweled with a light broom finish. 9. 1 inch deep tooled joints as required to match existing. All edges to be tooled. 10. All control joints should be cut within 12 hours of concrete placement, and should be ½ inch with ½ inch filler (polyethylene closed cell) and sealant (sonoplastic). Provide typically throughout sidewalk construction, or where there will be a change in direction. 11. Any areas where sidewalk meets yard, shall be graded to a mow-able transition, filled with topsoil, and seeded. 12. All flat work to be sealed with Kure-n-seal or approved equal. 13. Measurements listed are approximate, and contractor should field verify the actual measurements before bidding
