This would mark the fourth active development in Pompano Beach for Miami-based developer Related Group. The company is currently building the sold-out Solemar condo, it recently broke ground on the Casamar Residences and partnered with BH Group to purchase an oceanfront development site. The new property is at 1350 S. Ocean Blvd. WH Pompano LP, led by Dev Motwani of Fort Lauderdale-based Merrimac Ventures, secured approval in 2015 to develop the 1.71-acre property with 92 condos. He later co-developed the property across the street, along the Intracoastal Waterway, into apartments and sold them in 2020, but the condo site has remained vacant. The city's Development Review Committee will consider a new design for the condo at 1350 S. Ocean Blvd. on June 7, but the size of the project would remain the same. Coral Gables-based Nichols Architects crafted the 92-unit condo in 28 stories. The 335,330-square-foot building would feature 4,000 square feet of restaurants and 193 parking spaces. The application indicates Related Group is now involved in the project. Motwani said he brought in Related Group as a co-developer with Merrimac, similar to how they have partnered on the Crosby Miami Worldcenter condo that's under construction. "We were just waiting to start the condo as the Pompano Beach market was greatly improving," Motwani said. "It will be a world-class luxury oceanfront condo with 92 spacious residences, and 27 boat slips across the street." He said the design was updated to reflect Pompano Beach as more of a luxury destination. Motwani could launch condo sales later this year. He didn't disclose the pricing. The standard condos would range from 2,033 to 3,507 square feet. Plus there would be penthouses ranging from 5,910 to 5,974 square feet. It would have 22 two-bedroom units, 22 three-bedroom units, 44 four-bedroom units, and four five-bedroom penthouses. Such large condos often appeal to wealthy families looking to relocate to Florida, as opposed to seasonal visitors. There would be a pool deck on the third floor featuring a bar and cabanas. Officials with Related Group couldn't be reached for comment. _____________________________________________________________________________________ Plans will include a condominium tower and a hotel tower. Both will feature retail and restaurant space. As of June 26, 2020, plans are under revision with the city.
