CVCC Renovate Amherst and Campbell Halls

The purpose of this RFP is to solicit proposals for the purposes of entering into a contract through competitive negotiations for the professional services of an Architectural/Engineering firm. This project provides for the renovation of Amherst and Campbell Halls, at Central Virginia Community College. This renovation project will provide for the reconfiguration and modernization of 73,592 g.s.f. of the buildings' 104,231 g.f.s. of space, to include new finishes, ceilings, flooring, casework and upgrade/replacement of all major building components. The scope will include upgrades to the plumbing, electrical and lighting systems, modification of the new Building Automation Controls System to interact with any new HVAC equipment, plus improvements to the fire/life safety systems, technology infrastructure and handicapped accessibility. Where needed, doors, windows, louvers and other building envelope penetrations will be replaced with energy efficient components. Major reconfiguration of the first academic bay of Amherst Hall will be required to allow for the expansion of the tiered Lecture Hall. Aesthetic enhancements at the primary entrances to both buildings and to the exterior elevations are desired to improve the overall appearance of these buildings. The design for Campbell Hall must also include the installation of an elevator and associated lobby.
