CMAR for Domestic Animal Services New Facilities

The Collier County Domestic Animal Services (“DAS”) is a sheltering organization caring for thousands of animals each year. The overall mission at DAS is to return stray pets to their owners, promote adoption of homeless animals to new families, and to work towards ending the community problem of pet overpopulation. DAS is Collier County’s only open-admission public animal shelter. Domestic Animal Services will be relocating the main campus from 7610 Davis Blvd., Naples, Florida to a new 9-acre parcel on the City Gate 305 property, which is across from the Paradise Sports Complex. The new DAS facility will be designed and constructed to improve meeting DAS’s mission. The new, modern facility will be centrally located in an area of high visibility to support the shelter’s mission of reaching more people for educational and stray pet outreach purposes. DAS’s intention is to house all the services under one facility with separate and secure staff and public parking areas. The facility will also use paddocks/stalls for livestock, have outdoor pet exercise areas and a memorial garden. The awarded Construction Manager will be responsible for removal, relocation and setup of all Fixtures Furnishings and Equipment (FF&E) from the existing site to the new turnkey facility. The intention is for the DAS staff to be able to move into the new facility with minimal disruption to the daily operations.
