Description

The owner has selected a Construction Manager. A timeline for construction has not yet been established. The University of North Florida Board of Trustees, a public body corporate, announces that the services of a Construction Manager are required for pre-construction services, the development of a GMP, and construction services for the remodel of Bldg. 10 and construction of an addition connecting Bldg. 10 to Bldg. 42. on UNF's campus at 1 UNF Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32224. The total project includes the remodeling of both floors of Building #10 and a new addition connecting Coggin College of Business Building 42 and Building 10. The project is broken down into Phase II A and Phase II B. Phase II A includes remodeling of the first floor of Building #10. The Construction Manager will provide pre-construction services through the development of the bid documents. Once the bid documents are complete the Construction Manager will provide a GMP for construction. Phase II B includes remodeling the second floor of Building #10 and a new addition connecting the two existing buildings. The Construction Manager will provide cost estimating services for the conceptual design of Phase II B. When funding is identified for Phase II B the Construction Manager Agreement will be amended to include providing the remaining pre-construction services for the development of the bid documents. Once the Phase II B Bid Documents are completed the Construction Manager will develop a GMP for construction. Only Phase II A is funded at this time. Phase II B is UNF's #1 priority project request to the State for funding. Harvard Jolly has been hired to provide full Design and Construction Administrative Services for Phase II A. Harvard Jolly's scope of services also includes providing a master plan and conceptual design for Phase II B. When funding is identified then Harvard Jolly's Contract will be amended to include providing the rest of the Design and Construction Administrative Services for Phase II B. The estimated construction budget for Phase II A is $4,000,000. The estimated construction budget for Phase II B is $26,000,000 Construction Management Services include: pre-construction services that include but are not limited to cost estimates, constructability reviews, code compliance, and project schedules; development of a GMP; construction services to remodel Building 10 and provide an addition connecting Building 10 to Building 42. The Construction Manager will work with University of North Florida (UNF) staff and the UNF selected Design Team for the project through the design and construction process Bonds Bid, Payment, and Performance Bonds will be required with the submission of a Guaranteed Maximum Price. Liquidated Damages Liquidated damages shall be assessed in the amount of $1,200 for each and every calendar day elapsing between the date fixed for Substantial Completion and the date Substantial Completion shall have been fully accomplished.
