1 Replace Chillers Fitzsimons Building, Phases 1 & 2 and 2 Upgrade Electrical Systems CU Denver Bldg phases 1 & 2

Project 1: 1. Phase 1 is devoted to preparation, including piping distribution modifications. Pipe changes will allow the distribution to be looped and provide for circulation without triggering emergency transfer. Independent circulation will allow periodic PM procedures. This includes four piping by-pass modifications with isolation valves and control valves and new BAS sequence of operation. The new looped system will also include water treatment upgrades to facilitate maintenance (to avoid water stagnation). Also, new "spot- cooling" will be added in a remote area of the distribution tunnel that has contributed to the reliability problem. 2. Proposed phase 2 will remove and install (3) three new high-efficient 280 TON water-cooled chillers to replace existing obsolete chillers. Project 2: 1. This project request will upgrade the electrical distribution system in two phases Please note: The electrical work being proposed as Phase 2 of 2 for this controlled maintenance project has also been submitted for FY 22-23 funding as a separate capital request due to the severity of the degradation of the electrical system. If the electrical work is funded as a capital request, this CM phase and scope will be removed from consideration as a controlled maintenance project.
