Description

A new relief school project known as Site 132-M-W-4 (1,348 Student Stations) and Site 89-E-W-4 (837 Student Stations) located in the Town Center West – Horizon West Town Center, west of County Road 545, Avalon Road. This project consists of the reuse of a multi-story prototype middle school in addition to a new multi-story prototype elementary school, both on a new 33.9 acre site to provide facilities, which meet Orange County Public School’s criteria, design standards, and assigned educational program requirements. Major elements of the project include: 1. Preparation of newly developed site for building pad. 2. Construction of a new multi-story prototype middle school building, approximately 160,000 gross square feet, with the following spaces: classrooms, skills/resource labs, art, music, career and technical education labs, administration, kitchen, dining/multi-purpose room, media center, gymnasium and support spaces. In addition, construction of a new multi-story prototype elementary school building, approximately 89,000 gross square feet, with the following spaces: classrooms, skills/resource labs, art, music, administration, kitchen, dining/multi-purpose room, media center, and support spaces. 3. Construction of new outdoor amenities such as track and field, hard courts and softball fields for the middle school and construction of new PE pavilion, PE Office, toilets, PE storage and outdoor PE amenities such as multi-purpose fields, hard courts and playgrounds for the elementary school. 4. The new facility shall accommodate 1,348 student stations for the middle school and 837 student stations for the elementary school. 5. Pre-Construction Phase Services shall include but are not limited to: attending any and all design and preconstruction conferences, assisting and cooperating with the Design Professional with respect to the design of the Project, reviewing and commenting on design documents, constructability review, advertising & conducting pre-bid conference, providing cost estimates & GMP development, preparing construction schedule and incorporating design schedule into a single project schedule, refining general requirements and general conditions, and documenting “as-is” conditions (including offsite and onsite utilities from which connections are to be made). 6. Construction Phase Services include, but are not limited to, furnishing and paying for all management, supervision, financing, labor, materials, tools, fuel, supplies, utilities, equipment and services of every kind and type necessary to diligently, timely and fully perform and complete the construction of the entire Project in a good and workmanlike manner in accordance with the Construction Documents. The estimated construction cost is not to exceed $36,000,000 for the middle school and $21,000,000 for the elementary school. The Construction Management firm is to provide all professional services to deliver to the owner a safe, finished, and fully functioning Middle and Elementary School Facilities within the estimated construction budget.
