Description

As of 7/25/2022, the bids for this project have been rejected. A timeline for rebidding has not been established. The La Joya Independent School District is soliciting competitive sealed proposals from qualified sole proprietorships, partnerships, corporations, or other legal entities to provide construction services for the La Joya ISD ESSER Funds -Canopy Structures Phase III" located at Cavazos Elementary, Chapa Elementary, Perez Elementary, Seguin Elementary, Garza Elementary, Mendiola Elementary, Zapata Elementary, JD Salinas Middle School, Trevino Middle School, West Academy, Hope Academy , Juarez - Lincoln High School (2). The School district has selected Hinojosa Engineering Inc., to prepare construction documents for this project. The request for competitive sealed proposals that includes construction documents, selection criteria, estimated budget, project scope, schedule, and other information that contractors may require to respond to the request may be obtained at Hinojosa Engineering Inc., located at 108 Cleo Dawson St, Mission, Texas 78572 or by calling (956) 581-0143 All prospective proposers will be required to provide a certified or cashier's check or bid bond of 5% as part of the contractor's Bid Submittal payable to La Joya ISD. Performance and payment bonds for 100% of the contract value will be required upon issuance of contract. Each proposal is to be submitted in a sealed envelope which is clearly marked: La Joya ISD ESSER Funds - Canopy Structures Phase III Each proposal which is not signed by the offeror or an authorized representative of the offeror shall be rejected. Within 45 days after the date of the opening the proposals, the District shall evaluate and rank each proposal submitted in relation to the published selection criteria The District shall select the offeror that offers the best value to the district based on the published selection criteria and on its ranking evaluation. The District and its Architect/Engineer may discuss with the selected offeror options for cost reduction. If the District is unable to reach a contract agreement with the selected offeror, the District shall terminate further discussions and proceed to the next offeror in the order of the selection ranking until a contract agreement is reached or all proposals are rejected Attention of proposer is particularly called to the fact that not less than the federally determined prevailing wage rate (DavisBacon Act), as issued by the US Department of Labor and as set forth in the contract documents, must be paid on this project, and that the contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, marital status, handicap, or national origin. In determining best value for the district, the District is not restricted to considering price alone, but may consider any other factor stated in the selection criteria.. *This project has been identified as part of a stimulus package.
