Description | As of December 1, 2022, the owner is to begin negotiations with BoardMill Group LLC which consists of Faber Construction, Haven Design Workshop, developer Michael Watters and developer Elie Samuel. A timeline for when negotiations are anticipated to be completed is not available. A timeline for construction has not been determined. ....................................................................... The Port of Bellingham is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) for the redevelopment of the historic Boardmill Building located within the Waterfront District in Bellingham, Washington. This area is coming alive with new residential units, container village vendors, community events, a micro-brewery with outside seating areas, a large bike park, the seasonal farmers market, and offices and businesses located within the historic Granary Building. The development opportunity includes the approximately 44,000 square foot Boardmill Building located on approximately 3.42 acres (to be negotiated) of property owned by the Port of Bellingham. The ceiling on the first floor of the Boardmill Building is approximately 16 feet and the height on the second floor is approximately 24 feet in height. The building was constructed around 1946 and is one of the last existing structures from the former Georgia Pacific Pulp and Tissue Mill.
