US 101/Discovery Bay/SR 104 Hood Canal Ferry EB - VMS

The existing VMS system is outdated and requires frequent and extensive maintenance. Replace the obsolete signal system with a new VMS system using current technology and standards, reducing the risk of failure and the high cost of maintenance. As of September 13, 2022, this project is in Final Planning status. Preliminary engineering has begun and environmental design is expected to be complete in the Fourth quarter of 2022. The contract advertisement is expected in fourth quarter of 2022 and construction is anticipated to be operationally complete in the first quarter of 2023.
