Description

The selected A/E shall furnish all expertise, labor and resources for complete design and construction period services for the project in accordance with the requirements of the A/E Manual. The following generally highlights the services that the A/E will be required to perform. A. Develop a detailed design schedule as the baseline indicating submittal milestones dates, University and DEB review, comment, and response periods. Designers should anticipate two working drawing reviews by DEB. The schedule shall be well thought out and supported with detailed logic. ODU does not desire a static schedule and expects frequent schedule updates at both a summary and detail level. B. Develop a work plan to engage coaches / staff in the planning and development of the design of the new Football locker room. Establishment of planning committee session frequency and duration is critical up front to lock in those time on calendars. C. Refine, clarify, and define the University’s project description, data, and requirements as necessary to develop a Schematic design of the project which meetsthe University’srequirements, the current edition of the A/E Manual and is within the stipulated “design-not-to-exceed” construction cost. D. Develop all design submissions consistent with the requirements of the A/E Manual. E. The University expects each submittal to DEB to have been carefully reviewed by the entire A/E team confirming the submittal follows the submission requirements, in detail, of the CSPM, prior to submission. F. Response and satisfactory resolution of all ODU and DEB comments shall be completed prior to commencement of each subsequent design phase. G. The University’s internal ITS department and Classroom Central audio-visual designers will serve as the AV/ITS consultants for this project. The A/E shall engage these designers early and frequently in the design to coordinate the project’s technology needs. The A/E will be responsible for documenting the infrastructure required to connect all AV/IT Technology in the project.
