Description

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has a need for a strategic resource evaluation of the availability of highway construction materials in the state. In general, this includes asphalt related products, cementitious materials, aggregates, steel products and earthwork materials The need for this study is justified by possible future construction material supply issues related to regional, national, and global market conditions that are influenced by many factors (political, economic, natural disaster, demand for similar products, large Public-Private-Partnership (P3) or major contracts, etc.). An understanding of the scope and magnitude of the source, availability and cost issues will be critical for FDOT’s forecasting, planning, and constructing of future projects.
