Campground Development - 459-054 - City of Sioux City

This project would allow for a campground to be built in a yet to be determined location. The focus has been to find a large enough parcel to accommodate a campground along the Missouri River. Justification: The City currently does not have any opportunities for camping within the City limits. As there is an increase in "staycations" and the desire to become a destination location, the need for a campground is justified. With the increased growth in the southern regions of the City this amenity to the Parks would allow for additional economic growth for surrounding businesses As of November 30, 2022, the owner is working on purchasing the property for this project and it is in the very early conceptual stages. No firm timeline has been established for the construction. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
