Clifford D. Craig Memorial Dam Drain Drilling and Exploration (Spring Hollow Drain Drilling)

This contract includes re-drilling the foundation drains from the dam gallery and coring to remove the pavement plug in the dam crest for access to the internal drains at the Clifford D. Craig Memorial Dam in Roanoke County, Virginia. The dam impounds Spring Hollow Reservoir, which has a surface area of about 158 acres with a storage capacity of about 10,000 acre-ft at maximum normal water surface El. 1,410.0 ft. The dam is a 243-foothigh, high hazard, Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) dam, regulated by Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR), and owned and operated by the Western Virginia Water Authority (Owner). The project is a side-stream, pumped storage reservoir for water supply located on an unnamed tributary approximately 0.25 miles south of the Roanoke River.
