Aetna Willis Shaft - Feature 2

The Aetna Willis Shaft – Feature 2 project site is located in close proximity to 1700 Salisbury Drive, 540 feet NW of the intersection of State Route 1360 (Oldbury Road) and State Route 1362 (Southwick Boulevard), approximately 427 feet north of the site of the previously completed Aetna Willis Shaft Maintenance Project near Midlothian, in Chesterfield County, Virginia. Coordinates for the approximate center of the project site are 37° 30’ 40”N and 77° 20’ 20”W. In summary, the scope of work shall consist of mobilization of the contractor’s workforce and equipment, construction site preparation to include clearing and grubbing of vegetation and tree removal, construction site layout and surveying, installation of a project sign, installation of erosion and sediment controls, upgrade and/or construction of access roads, capping and permanent closure of a vertical mine shaft opening with concrete/grouted riprap stone, adherence to quality control measures and reporting methods, installation of mine location markers, excavation and regrading, revegetation and clean up and repair of damage to the project site.
