Main Street Hashtag Connector Phase I

This project is Phase One of three phases and consists of the complete street revitalization of Main Street between Alcaniz Street and Baylen Street in down town Pensacola. The City of Pensacola desires to create more connected public spaces that highlight the local attributes of the City’s historic waterfront. The City has identified the Hashtag Connector Project as a catalyst project that enhances its economic development, links to existing assets, brings its citizens to the water, and connects east and west with a continuous waterfront trail. Phase One involves the milling and overlay of existing asphalt pavement, the removal, realignment and replacement of existing curb and gutter, the creation of center islands, landscaping, hardscaping, striping, signage, east and west bound protected bike lanes, and a new traffic signal at the intersection of Jefferson Street and Main Street.
