FY19 CDBG Area Proposed Sidewalk Improvements Design-Build

Design-Build Services for theconstruction of the FY19 CDBG Area Proposed Sidewalk Improvements, a project funded through anInterlocal Funding Agreement by Hillsborough County’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). The Design-Build Firm will be responsible for designing, surveying, constructing, and producing record drawings signed and sealed by an engineer for five-foot-wide sidewalk construction in the CDBG area shown in exhibit A. The sidewalk will be held to the following design and construction requirements: • 3000 PSI concrete • 5-feet wide and 4-inches thick • Include curb ramps per FDOT index 304 with curb modifications and 2’-0” detectable warning strips (bright red in color) when connecting sidewalks to roadways • Type F Curbs are required where no curbs exist. If Miami curb exists, retrofit to Temple Terrace curb. • Constructed 1’ from the right-of-way line, with a maximum of 5’ from the edge-of-pavement. • All Sidewalks must be ADA compliant • If required, mailboxes to be relocated to the back of curb for mail carrier access. • Any damages on private property will be returned to, by the Design-Build Firm, a condition at least equal to that which existed prior to the damage , i.e. sprinkler system, mailboxes, etc. • The design and construction will exclude sidewalk installation on residential driveways, residential driveway retrofits, and residential driveway aprons
