Description

This project consists of construction of a 10-ft wide Multi-Use Path (MUP) on the east side of the Pineapple Avenue, from Montreal Avenue to Pineapple Park, total project length of approximately 1,040-feet. Sidewalk and driveway replacements, curb and gutter and ADA upgrades are proposed for existing infrastructure. Traffic calming elements include reduction of travel lane width, a 140-ft long raised landscaped median just north of the Eau Gallie Boulevard & Pineapple Avenue intersection, installation of four (4) sets of traffic cushions for speed control, two (2) Rapid Rectangular Flashing Beacons (RRFB’s) at proposed midblock crosswalks just north of Bud Yeager and at the trail crossing, stamped concrete crosswalks, and concrete intersection medallions at key intersections including Creel Street, Law Street and Aurora Road. Proposed improvements also include custom pedestrian lighting along the MUP, reconstruction of the existing sidewalk to 6-ft on the west side of the roadway, thermoplastic striping, signage, pavement markings, traffic loop replacement, roadway widening, and basic landscaping. All sidewalks and pedestrian facilities shall adhere to current ADA standards. Coordination with FPL for light pole relocation is required. All improvements under this contract shall be constructed within the limits of existing rights-of way or through Right of Entry Agreements.
