Description | Page 1 of 1 INTRODUCTION: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC) anticipates soliciting bids and subsequently awarding a single Firm-Fixed-Price contract for the Design-Bid-Build Radiation Therapy Addition Minor Construction project at the Kansas City (VAMC) located at 4801 Linwood Boulevard, Kansas City, Missouri 64128-2226. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Kansas City VAMC is seeking a general contractor to completely prepare site for building operations, including demolition and removal of existing structures, and furnish labor and materials and perform work for the VAMC Kansas City Construct Radiation Therapy Addition as required by drawings and specifications. The design proposes a new construction gross area of approximately 18,346 ftA2. This new work will be adjacent to the existing hospital structure known as Building 26 and interact or otherwise integrate with the existing utility infrastructure within and without the existing building. The approximate actual work area is less than 1 acre, but immediate site storage is precluded due the proximity of the active Emergency Department entrance. Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) will be a necessity amid this effort, as the work area will affect the primary entrance to the main hospital and the emergency department. ADMINISTRATIVE: The solicitation will be issued as a Invitation for Bid (IFB) conducted in accordance with FAR Part 14 and will be evaluated in accordance with the procedures listed in the solicitation. The solicitation will be advertised as a total Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Set-Aside. Offers received from other than SDVOSB concerns will not be considered. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220 with a size standard of $39.5 million. The solicitation will be issued in June or July of 2023. The period of performance is approximately within 1110 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. In accordance with VAAR 836.204, the magnitude of construction is more than $10,000,000. This notice is not a request for competitive offers. All questions must be submitted in writing to the issuing office via email to: Richard.Webb3@va.gov. Telephone calls will not be accepted. -END- |
