Description

The Jacksonville District of the US Army Corps of Engineers is seeking interested offerors for a project that consists of beach renourishment in central Broward County, Florida. More specifically, the subject project will consists of beach renourishment along 8.9 miles of Atlantic Ocean shoreline in central Broward County, Florida. The project is located along the County’s Segment II shoreline between Hillsboro Inlet and Port Everglades Inlet. Sand will be placed between FDEP Range Monuments R-25 and R-72, and includes the municipalities of Pompano Beach, Sea Ranch Lakes, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea and Fort Lauderdale. The beach fill template includes a flat upper berm elevation of +7.9 ft NAVD88, sloping down at 1V:20H to a flat lower berm elevation of +5.9 ft NAVD88. The upper berm crest extends landward to tie-in with the existing grade or structure. The lower berm has a crest width ranging from 0 to 50 feet. The seaward limit of the lower berm slopes down at 1V:10H to the existing grade. The beach template described above includes a +0.5-foot vertical tolerance allowance. The shoreline between R-41.3 and R-51 will only receive fill above the mean high water line. Sand for the project will be from an upland mind(s) and truck hauled to the beach fill area.
