Description | The Jacksonville District of the US Army Corps of Engineers is seeking interested offerors for a project that consists of excavation of three separate and unique portions of the Big Fishweir Creek and Little Fishweir Creek. Big Fishweir Creek is a relatively small tributary on the west side of the St. Johns River approximately 4 miles south of downtown Jacksonville, Florida (Duval County). It is just north of the Ortega River mouth into the St. Johns River. The project will require the dredging, transport, offloading and disposal of a maximum of 30,000 cubic yards of material. Excavated material shall be transported to and placed into Bartram Island Disposal Area into Cell B2, approximately 15 miles northeast of the project location. The material must be offloaded into the upland disposal area that is significantly higher than the water surface of the St. Johns River. Work also includes turbidity monitoring, endangered species monitoring, debris removal, and debris disposal. |
