Description

The RePump Station operates as a transfer pumping plant with a range of demand from 40 MGD to 160 MGD at various pressure up to 70 psi. The facility receives a supply of incoming treated surface water via a 96-inch transmission main constructed by the Authority’s Segment B1 contractor. The 96-inch incoming main will reduce to 84-inch through the aboveground chemical injection station, then continuing through a block valve to 84-inch Segment B1 transmission main in the adjacent tunnel section crossing beneath Highway 290. Welded steel underground yard piping is arranged to divert the supply through two 10 million gallon ground storage tanks and into a common 96-inch buried suction header with isolation valves for branch connections to five 48-inch magnetic flow meters and 40 MGD horizontal split case pumps. Pumps and electrical switchgear will be enclosed within an approximately 15,000 square feet single story high bay steel frame with a barrel vault standing seam metal roof, drive through roll-up doors and a bridge crane. Each pump discharge line will have a 36-inch flow control ball valve and a 36-inch butterfly isolation valve connecting to a branch riser to the underground 84-inch outgoing main connecting back to the Segment B1 transmission main, allowing the Authority to boost pressure around the mainline block valve. A new approximately 8,000 SF single story operations building will have a break room, offices, control room, and limited analytical laboratory capability. The Central Pump Station operates as a high service distribution pumping plant with a range of demand from 20 MGD to 100 MGD at approximately 80 psi in the first phase. The facility receives a supply of incoming treated surface water via an 84-inch transmission main constructed by the Authority’s Segment C2 contractor. The 84-inch incoming main will reduce to 72-inch through the aboveground chemical injection station, then increase back to 84-inch below ground to branch into four 48-inch pipes connecting at two 15 million gallon ground storage tanks in the first phase. Tanks will have 72-inch effluent pipes combined into a common 84-inch buried suction header with isolation valves for branch connection to four 34 MGD horizontal split case pumps in the first phase. Pumps and electrical switchgear will be enclosed within an approximately 16,000 square feet single story high bay steel frame with a barrel vault roof, drive through roll-up doors and a bridge crane. Each pump discharge line will have a flow control ball valve with electro-hydraulic actuator, a 30-inch magnetic flow meter and a 30-inch butterfly isolation valve connecting to a branch riser to the underground 84-inch outgoing main connecting to the Segment C2 distribution main. A new approximately 13,000 SF single story operations building with public assembly conference room will accommodate a minimum of 175 people. This building will also have a break room, three offices, emergency crew quarters, control room, electrical, communications and limited analytical laboratory capability.
