North Tonawanda Downtown Placemaking

Project has been funded by Empire State Development with the intention of creating a stronger sense of place in the downtown North Tonawanda district. Improvements support walkability, traffic calming, wayfinding and community branding. The construction scope includes; Roadway and Sidewalk Improvements: Intersection construction, curbs and curb extensions, concrete crosswalks. asphalt patch and repair, utility relocations Where required Vegetation Improvements: Street trees in structural soil on Webster St. Main St and at Charles Fleischmann Park at the intersection Of Main, Webster and Goundry Streets Wayfinding Improvements: Lighted Gateway Monument sign, lighted secondary gateway signs. neighborhood directional signs. downtown wayfinding Interpretive Sign Placemaking Improvements: Clock tower, flagpole and site furniture at Charles Fleischmann Park, street furniture on Webster Street. and feature lighting and public art at Manhattan Street Parking Lot walkway.
